in the manufacture of thermit® rail welding kits and accessories. SkV
thermit® welds are available for most United States and foreign rail
sections. Orgo-Thermit has developed special molds, applicable to worn rail
conditions that regularly occur on modern day railroads. In addition, Orgo-Thermit
has developed different hardness weld portions to match rail hardnesses.
The SkV welding methods are designed for use in the field by
track labor and produce a dependable weld which is non-porous, fully fused
and structurally sound.
Thermit® welding procedures can be utilized for:
- All track and crane rails.
- Joints between different rail profiles.
- All common rail steel qualities, including head hardened rail.
- Welding in track, turnouts and crossings.
- Welding rail closures.
- Suspended and supported joints.
The welding kit is compact and an adequate supply can be transported
to the job site.
Kits must be ordered with the required weld hardness, rail size(s),
and specificed for full or worn rail profiles.
Kits are available for standard or premium rail hardnesses.
